Last summer, during four Wednesdays in July of 2011, Dr. Fisher Humphreys made presentations at Vestavia Hills Baptist Church as he considered what the future might hold for “moderate Baptist Christians.” As we move into a very different and fast changing world, congregations and Christians struggle to discover remain relevant while holding on to the things that matter to them. Dr. Fisher Humphreys brought an insightful study, based on his book, The Way We Were: How Southern Baptist Theology Has Changed and What It Means. Dr. Humphreys helped us understand the big picture of where we are and what the hard choices will be for congregations that want to remain vital and spiritually relevant to their world.
